How to overcome a Bromptom Cocktail addiction without using other opiates

How to get through a Bromptom Coctail addiction. The Brompton cocktail is a powerful mixture of pain-relieving medications that was originally developed for use in a London hospital during the 1950s. It consists of cocaine and morphine mixed with ethyl alcohol, and some formulations can also include hydromorphone, methadone, or diphenhydramine.

The drug mixture serves to ease chronic and severe pain resulting from serious illnesses, such as cancer or advanced tuberculosis. More recent applications of Brompton cocktails have been in the treatment of patients undergoing severe physical distress from heroin withdrawal. This use in addiction treatment is somewhat controversial and carries a certain level of risk for many recovering individuals.

Use in Hospice Care

Patients undergoing intensive chemotherapy for cancer often receive one of these pain-relieving cocktails under a doctor's close supervision. Due to its powerful narcotic effects, the Brompton cocktail can ease terminal patients' discomfort and pain while they are staying in a hospice facility. The drug mixture can also be effective at relieving the severe coughs associated with respiratory illnesses.

Potential Side Effects

The most common effects of this drug mixture include lethargy, disorientation, mental confusion, nausea, and slowed respiration rates. It can also lead to constipation in some patients. The cocktail's highly addictive ingredients make it quite risky for some patients, particularly those who are weaning themselves off recreational narcotic drug use.

Possibility of Abuse in Addiction Recovery

A Brompton cocktail is usually administered intravenously, which can increase the likelihood of misuse in drug rehabilitation facilities. Due to limited success in heroin addiction treatment and associated liabilities, the use of this drug mixture has been in a steady decline since the 1970s. Doctors treating patients with physical heroin withdrawal are now more likely to give them doses of less potent pain relievers. These treatments can include low doses of morphine or methadone in many cases.

Beating an addiction to bromptom cocktails

If you want to overcome your addiction to bromptom cocktails then I would suggest that you look into going to a substance abuse rehab that deals specifically with opiate addiction.

If you go you can expect to be there for around two weeks. The first 5 days will be spent in detox and the remainder in residential treatment.

I have only used this drug once but I know that if I would have been able to get more at the time I would have. That’s the only thing that kept me from becoming addicted to it.

In my opinion this is the best way to come off of any opioid drug.

Good luck
